Diego García Rodríguez was born in Escarabote (A Coruña). He studied piano and chamber music at the Conservatory of Santiago de Compostela and the Conservatoire de Lausanne.

He studies conducting at the Hochschule der Künste in Zürich and obtains a Master in orchestral conducting under the guidance of Professor Johannes Schlaefli.

He pursue his orchestra and opera studies with Diego Masson and was selected to participate in the first program for young conductors of the prestigious ensemble "London Sinfonietta".

He has been assistant conductor of Nicola Luisotti, Paul Daniel, Josep Pons and Nicolas Chalvin at the Teatro Real in Madrid, Gran Teatre del Liceu de Barcelona, Festival Castell de Peralada, Opéra de Lausanne, Théâtre de Caen and Angers-Nantes Opéra.

He conducts "Hänsel und Gretel" at the Teatro Real in Madrid, "Carmen" at the Opera Bałtycka in Gdansk, "Rigoletto", "Macbeth" and "Il Barbiere di Siviglia" in Vigo, "Madama Butterfly" and "Le nozze di Figaro" at the Dartington Summer Festival, "Il Barbiere di Siviglia" and "Rigoletto" in Donostia, "Die Dreigroschenoper" for the Centro Dramático Galego and the world premieres of "It makes no difference ..." by Simone Spagnolo at the Tête à Tête festival in London, "Die träumenden Knaben" by Torsten Rasch at the "Two Moors Festival" in Devon and " O Loro de Carlos V "by Nani García in A Coruña.

He has performed as guest conductor with the Real Filarmonía de Galicia, Orquesta Sinfónica de Galicia, Orquesta Sinfónica de Castilla y León, Orquesta Sinfónica del Principado de Asturias, Orquesta de Extremadura, Orquesta Filarmónica de Málaga, Orchestre des Pays de Savoie, Akademicka Orkiestra Bydgoszcz, Orquesta Sinfónica de Galicia Youth Orchestra, Dartington Festival Orchestra, OrchestrBerg Prag and the Swiss instrumental ensemble "Kypris".

Diego is founder member and artistic director of the Taller Atlántico Contemporáneo (TAC)
